Leaders of Arab and Islamic countries call for stopping the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, breaking the siege on Gaza and delivering humanitarian aid

Riyadh – Leaders of Arab and Islamic countries participating in the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit, held today in Riyadh, issued the summit’s final statement.

The leaders condemned the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip and the war crimes and barbaric massacres being committed against the people there, calling for an immediate stop of this aggression, for breaking the siege imposed on Gaza and for the immediate delivery of Arab, Islamic and international humanitarian aid.

The leaders rejected describing this aggression as a self-defense attempt or justifying it under any pretext.

They affirmed that the Palestinian cause is a central cause, stressing the full support of the Arab and Islamic countries for the Palestinian people.

They called for supporting all the steps taken by Egypt to confront the consequences of the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza, and for Egypt’s efforts to immediately bring enough aid into Gaza Strip in a sustainable way.

The leaders called on the International Criminal Court to conduct investigation into the war crimes being committed by “Israel” against the Palestinian people.

The final statement called for establishing two media monitoring units to document the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and for establishing digital media platforms that post these documents as to expose the illegal and inhumane practices of the occupation.

It also called for forming a committee, consisting of a number of foreign ministers, to work as to convey the position of the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries to the international community and to accelerate the end of the Israeli war on Gaza Strip with the aim of alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and to put pressure as to launch a real political process to achieve lasting and comprehensive peace in accordance with the international legitimacy.

In their statement, the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries called on the Security Council to adopt a decisive and binding resolution that condemns the Israeli aggression, forces the occupation to stop this aggression and deters the Israeli colonialist authorities which violate the international law, the international humanitarian law, and the international legitimacy resolutions.

They urged the Security Council to adopt a resolution condemning Israel’s barbaric destruction of hospitals in Gaza Strip, the prevention of the entry of medicine, food, and fuel into the Strip, and the cutting off electricity, water, communications and Internet services, in collective punishment that constitutes a war crime under the international law. They stressed the resolution should force “Israel”, “the occupying power,” to abide by the international law, immediately end its brutal practices and lift the unfair blockade it has been imposing on Gaza Strip for years.

The leaders announced their support for the legal and political initiatives of the State of Palestine to hold officials of the Israeli authorities responsible for the crimes they committed against the Palestinian people.

They called on all countries to stop exporting weapons and ammunition to the Israeli entity as they are used by the occupation forces and the terrorist settlers to kill the Palestinian people and destroy their homes, hospitals, schools, mosques, churches and all their capabilities.
