Saudi-African Summit urges pressuring “Israel” to halt its aggression on Gaza, stop displacing the population in Gaza

The first Saudi-African summit held on Friday in Riyadh, called on the international community to put pressure on the Israeli occupation entity to stop its aggression against the Gaza Strip, halt the displacement of the Palestinian  people in the Strips and allow international humanitarian organizations to provide humanitarian and relief aid to the Palestinian people.

In a statement issued at the conclusion of the summit, the participants expressed their deep concern about the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and stressed the need to “stop military operations in the occupied Palestinian territories and protect civilians in accordance with the international law and the international humanitarian law.”

The leaders stressed that the international community must play a decisive role in pressuring the Israeli entity to stop the aggression on Gaza and halt the displacement of the Palestinians from Gaza Strip, which is a flagrant violation of the international humanitarian law and the international laws. They affirmed the need to empower the international humanitarian organizations to carry out their role in providing humanitarian and relief services to the Palestinian people and to support their efforts in this regard, especially the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).

The leaders also underscored the need to “end the real cause of the conflict, which is the Israeli occupation, and affirmed the importance of intensifying efforts to reach a comprehensive and just settlement in accordance with the principle of the two-state solution, the Arab Peace Initiative, and the relevant international legitimacy resolutions in a way that guarantees the Palestinian people their right to establish their independent state on the 1967 lines with East Al-Quds (Jerusalem) as its capital.”

They reiterated the need to respect the sovereignty of states, non-interference in their internal affairs and good neighborliness based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and common interests between states in accordance with the international law. They also emphasized the need to unify efforts to combat all forms of terrorism and extremism.
