Iran stresses the necessity to pay attention to defense diplomacy with neighboring countries

Tehran, (ST) – The Assistant and Supreme Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi on Wednesday stressed the necessity of paying attention to the country’s defense diplomacy with neighboring countries, in the light of future threats against Iran.

At the National Conference on Emerging Maritime Opportunities and Threats, which was organized by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy, Safavi stressed the need to increase Iran’s deterrent power against maritime and air threats.

Safavi pointed to the necessity of confronting the unilateralism of the United States and its allies, in cooperation with the great powers, and said: With China and Russia, we can achieve common interests at the strategic level, as dealing with the threats of the United States and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) requires a long-term strategy.

Regarding what is happening in Gaza Strip, Safavi said: In these events, the aspirations of the resistance front and determining the fate of the Palestinian land will be in the hands of the Palestinians.
