Sysoev: Terrorists who fought in Syria and Iraq moved to Europe under the guise of “illegal immigrants”

Head of the Counter-Terrorism Center of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Yevgeny Sysoev, revealed that foreign terrorists who fought in Syria and Iraq arrive in European countries, under the guise of illegal immigrants.

The “RT” website quoted Sysoev as saying during a press conference on the sidelines of the scientific and practical conference of the Regional Counter-Terrorism Organization of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent: “Foreign fighters and terrorists who have gained combat experience in Syria and Iraq are moving in illegal immigration flows to the European continent ,including their use in the geopolitical interests of a number of countries , which constitutes a source of concern.

Sysoev added: “This will lead to serious consequences for Europe, given the entry of extremists into fertile soil prepared for neo-Nazis and extreme nationalist ideas that are being revived and cultivated in each individual’s country”.

On the other hand, Sysoev said: “Afghanistan remains a source of special concern because the Taliban movement is not able to deal with the growing influence and capabilities of the Khorasan branch of the terrorist organization ISIS, whose number of members has increased, according to international estimates, to 6,000 armed men, and this constitutes a danger aimed directly at Central Asian countries.
