A Syrian-Russian press conference on the terrorist attack that targeted the Military Academy in Homs

Damascus, (ST) – Director of the Political Department of the Syrian Arab Army, Major General Hassan Suleiman, affirmed that the Syrian Arab Army, in coordination with the friendly Russian forces operating in Syria, launched a series of specific operations and concentrated strikes targeting the criminal terrorist organizations that committed the terrorist attack on the Military Academy in Homs on the 5th of last month.

In a joint Syrian-Russian press conference to shed light on the terrorist attack that targeted the Military Academy in Homs, Major General Suleiman announced that the joint Syrian-Russian operations led to the destruction of all targeted terrorist sites and headquarters, including ammunition and equipment depots, and the elimination of hundreds of terrorists affiliated with the so-called “Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham” (Al-Nusra Front), the Turkestan Islamic Party, and other terrorist organizations.

Major General Suleiman said that the joint Syrian-Russian operations also resulted in paralyzing the combat and organizational capabilities of the terrorists, preventing them from regrouping their ranks, and creating a state of chaos and panic among them, and they began to seek help from their masters and operators following the heavy losses they suffered.

In turn, the Head of the Russian coordination center in Damascus and the central region, Major General Vadim Kulit said: We are deeply shocked by the terrorist attack that occurred in Homs, and we are certain that all those involved in this crime will receive the punishment they deserve.

Major General Kulit added: In cooperation with the Syrian army, the appropriate response was carried out through targeting, with aircraft and artillery,  23 observation points, terrorist headquarters, training camps and 35 tunnels and underground shelters.

Kulit stated that more than 230 air strikes were carried out by Russian air forces and more than 900 missions were carried out by Russian and Syrian artillery on the sites of the terrorist organizations, during which 200 terrorists were eliminated, including 34 ringleaders and 15 experts of foreign nationalities, and 450 others were injured and 1,125 targets were destroyed.

He went on to say that the joint operations of the Russian forces and the Syrian Arab Army have led to reducing the combat capabilities of terrorist organizations, dispersing their leaders, damaging their morale, and forcing them to stop their terrorist attacks.

During the press conference, a video that included scenes of the military parade at the Military Academy and the funeral of the martyrs, was screened, then a film about the most prominent operations carried out by the Syrian Arab Army in cooperation with the Russian forces operating in Syria in response to this terrorist attack.
