Syria, Iran to enhance cooperation in the field of charitable work

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Louay Al-Munjid, discussed with the Iranian Ambassador to Damascus Hussein Akbari areas of cooperation between Syria and Iran and means of developing them in a number of fields, especially with regard to civil society charitable work.

During the meeting, Minister Al-Munajjid stressed the importance of the distinguished historical relations between Syria and Iran in various fields. He noted the importance of benefiting from the distinguished and pioneering Iranian experience, which framed civil charitable work in an economic nature.

Minister Al-Munajjid stressed the importance of accelerating the preparation of a memorandum of understanding to ensure overcoming all difficulties facing the implementation of joint projects between the two countries.

In turn, Ambassador Akbari affirmed the desire of the Iranian side to raise the level of economic relations between the two countries and to seek to develop them to reach the level of political relations, especially with the presence of a ready basis for achieving cooperation in broader fields.
