The liberated countryside of Al-Raqqa city commemorates the National Environment Day with afforestation and cleanliness campaigns as well as honoring those distinguished in their work
The liberated areas of Al-Raqqa countryside commemorated the National Environment Day activities, through cleaning, environmental awareness and afforestation campaigns, in addition to honoring a number of distinguished cleaners and firefighters.
The Governor of Al-Raqqa city, Abdul Razzaq Khalifa, indicated in a statement that celebrating National Environment Day increases the state of environmental awareness in light of the violations and infringements to which the environment is exposed, which requires institutions, civil society and individuals to work to preserve the environment safe and sound.
Environment Director Talal Al-Issa explained that on this National Day, various types of forest plants were planted in gardens and schoolyards in liberated cities, villages and towns, in addition to implementing clean-up campaigns with the participation of the local community while also honoring cleaners and firefighters who excelled in their work.
The head of the Maadan City Council, Muhammad al-Muhammad, noted the existing cooperation with the Environment Directorate through permanent coordination with regard to all cleaning and landscaping services to achieve an environment far from any forms of pollution.
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fragrance of the Euphrates (Abaq Al Furat) Association, Ghanem Al-Jarwan, pointed out that preserving the environment from pollution reflects positively on public health, clean water sources, and other natural resources.
