Gaza Media Office calls on international institutions to provide protection for press crews

The Gaza Media Office confirmed that some Palestinian media websites were subjected to an electronic attack originating from the Israeli occupation in an attempt to silence the Palestinian voice in order for the occupation to commit more crimes.

The office called on international institutions to provide protection for press crews, condemn this attack and other attacks that affected dozens of journalists, and hold the occupation accountable for them.

The office said in a statement today: “The Israeli occupation’s aggression against the Gaza Strip enters its thirtieth day, and it has targeted everything in it, and is a continuation of the occupation’s policy of silencing the Palestinian voice and concealing the truth by all means , whether by directly targeting journalists by killing them, bombing their homes, or destroying press offices and preventing the foreign press from entering Gaza.”

The office confirmed that the Israeli electronic attack on these sites is a blatant assault on freedom of opinion and expression guaranteed by international conventions.

The office indicated that the occupation is preparing to commit more crimes against the people of Palestine and seeks to make witnesses of the truth disappear by all means.

In its statement, the office called on the international community which claims to have guaranteed freedom of opinion and expression to condemn the occupation’s denial of this freedom.
