TOKYO, (ST) – The Syrian Embassy in Japan participated in the activities of the charity bazaar organized by the Japanese Women’s Association in Africa and the Middle East in the Japanese capital, Tokyo. The proceeds of the event will be allocated to civil society organizations in the Arab countries and Africa.
Chargé d’Affaires of the Syrian Embassy in Tokyo, Muhammad Najeeb Elji, confirmed in a statement to SANA that the turnout witnessed by the Syrian pavilion was exceptional, noting the visitors’ admiration for the impeccable quality, precision, and creativity of the traditional handicrafts.
The Chargé d’Affairs said: Some of the visitors recalled their previous visits to Syria. He praised the generosity of the Syrian people, their hospitality, and their ancient history, and expressed their desire to visit Syria in the future.
For her part, Amanda Al-Sayed pointed out the importance of participating in the charity bazaar because a portion of its proceeds will go to charitable organizations concerned with women and children in the Arab countries, including the Palestinians who are suffering today from Zionist war crimes.
She added: The Women’s Association meeting in which I participated approved the distribution of a portion of its proceeds to charities in the participating countries.
The Syrian pavilion included some traditional crafts such as brocade, Agbani, mosaics and soap, in addition to some Syrian cuisine such as shawarma, freekeh, appetizers and oriental sweets.
Twenty embassies, including Arab embassies, participated in the bazaar, including the embassies of Palestine, Iraq, Egypt, and the Sultanate of Oman.
