DAMASCUS- (ST) – The Syrian Arab Republic is not surprised by statements made by some members of what is called “Doha Coalition” after the conclusion of the so-called “Friends of Syria” group meeting in Paris on Sunday, a Foreign and Expatriates Ministry source announced on Monday.
“The statements are far from reality and can only be made by people who are disconnected from reality and away from any acceptable political logic,” the source said.
It added that the ministry considers any statement, stance or announcement made by such parties before the Geneva II conference as nothing but a disparate attempt to cover their gangs’ defeats on ground at Geneva II conference.
“Syria gives no heed to anybody talking on behalf of the Syrian people abroad whether they are Arabs or foreigners,” the source said, reiterating that only the Syrian people have the right to determine their future and to choose their leadership.
“The Syrians are no longer wasting their time listening to such rubbish”, the source added.
“Once again, Syria stresses that it has agreed to take part in Geneva II conference without preconditions and it has repeatedly announced that dialogue is way towards solution,” according to the source, who pointed out that those putting preconditions ahead of “Geneva II” are trying to undermine the conference even before it starts.
Members of a group calling its self “Friends of Syria” met yesterday in Paris and tired to specify options and make decisions on behalf of the Syrian people, forgetting that they have been persisting in supporting the armed terrorist groups with money, arms and mercenaries in order to destroy the Syrian state to serve Western agendas and colonialist and Zionist interests in the region.
