Red Cross: The humanitarian situation in Gaza is worsening every hour

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The International Red Cross confirmed that the humanitarian situation in the besieged Gaza Strip is getting worse every hour, and that what international institutions have been able to bring in to Gaza is not enough to meet the needs.

Wafa News Agency quoted the regional spokeswoman for the International Committee of the Red Cross, Iman Trabelsi as saying: The Red Cross has been able since last Friday until Sunday, to bring 9 trucks into the Gaza Strip containing medical materials and materials related to water purification.  She added that the Red Cross also could bring in an additional crew affiliated with the Red Cross to support the efforts of the team present at the scene, including a surgical team, and specialists in pollution caused by weapons, water, and disinfection.

Trabelsi stressed the need to work on a sustainable plan to introduce aid in a way that is actually consistent with the huge needs of the people of the Strip, and with the pressure that the basic sectors are suffering from, especially the water and health sectors.

Al-Trabelsi pointed top the need to focus on health and water aid, but this does not mean that these are the only priorities. The people of Gaza Strip, especially the displaced families, need everything, including food, basic necessities and safe shelter that preserve their dignity.
