OIC calls for accelerating the provision of urgent aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has called on the international community and the international humanitarian organizations to ensure urgent aid and protection to the Palestinian people, reiterating that the international community should assume its responsibility towards stopping this barbaric Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip.

This call came in a written letter posted on the OIC website by the OIC Secretary General Hussein Ibrahim Taha addressing influential international parties, including the Security Council’s permanent member countries.

Taha called on these parties to assume their responsibilities towards the tragic events taking place in Palestine as a result of the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, which has been continuous for the 22nd day and which has left thousands of martyrs, tens of thousands of wounded and missing persons under the rubble.

He also called for providing international protection and humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in the light of the scarcity of water, electricity, fuel and medicine, and in the light of  the internal displacement of the Palestinian people who flee the indiscriminate Israeli bombardment.
