A Syrian inventor wins two medals, a gold and a silver, at the Fourth Global Invention Forum in Cyprus

The Syrian inventor Issam Hamdi, member of the Syrian Society for Scientific Research and Publishing, won two medals, a gold and a silver one, in the competition program at the Fourth Global Invention Forum held in Cyprus recently.

Hamdi said in a statement to SANA reporter that he won the gold medal for his design of a steam turbine device dedicated to farms and fields to pump water directly into them out of a depth of less than 50 metres, generate electricity and operate pumps for farms.

The Syrian inventor pointed out that his participation in the forum, which took place between the 17th and 18th of October, came as a grant after the design of the double-acting steam turbine device was registered at the British Patent Office, during the third month of this year.

As for the silver medal, Hamdi added that it was for his design of a method to build fast- fabricated houses to shelter those affected by earthquakes by pouring one of the appropriate types of quick-hardening foam into molds.

According to Hamdi, one mold can construct a house within an hour, so with ten molds we can construct about 5,000 houses within a month.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian Society for Scientific Research and Publishing sponsored the participation of the inventor Hamdi in the forum, in which about 200 projects from 25 countries around the world participated.

The international jury took into account the most interesting projects to receive the forum’s medals and special awards.
