Detainees’ Affairs Authority: The occupation abuses female captives in Damoun prison

The Palestinian Detainees and ex-Detainees Affairs Authority confirmed that the Israeli occupation authorities have escalated their repressive practices against female captives in the “Damoun” prison, since the start of their aggression against the Gaza Strip on the seventh of this month.

The Commission said in a statement today, reported by Wafa Palestinian News Agency: “The occupation authorities are taking advantage of the large blackout they imposed on the conditions of captives in detention centers, preventing them from  visits, since the beginning of their continuing aggression against the Gaza Strip for the seventeenth day, singling out the torture and abuse of 50 female captives in Damoun prison, , besides the repeated raids of heavily armed occupation forces into the rooms of female captives in detention, in addition to placing a number of them in solitary confinement.

The Detainees’ Affairs Authority and the Palestinian Captives’ Club confirm that the occupation forces have escalated arrest campaigns in the West Bank since the beginning of their aggression against the Gaza Strip, arresting more than 1,200 Palestinians, including children, women and the elderly, indicating that the Israeli occupation forces are adopting a policy of threats and severe beatings in their arrest operations  against detainees and their families, in addition to vandalizing their homes.
