With the participation of 90 local and foreign companies…the launch of the activities of the (Agro Syria) and (Veterinary and Poultry) exhibitions
With the participation of about 90 specialized local and foreign companies, the activities of the Syrian International Exhibition for Agricultural Mechanization and Supplies “Agro Syria 2023” in its first session, and the “Veterinary and Poultry” Exhibition in its fifth session, were launched this evening, on the grounds of the New Exhibition City in Damascus.
The two exhibitions which were held in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, the Federation of the Syrian Agriculture Chambers, and the Syrian Veterinarians Syndicate, include agriculture supplies and equipment, modern irrigation equipment, supplies for modern agriculture and fertilizers, in addition to veterinary medicines and vaccines, veterinary services, poultry equipment, pesticides, medicines, feed, and others.
Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Mohamed Hassan Qatna, explained that the exhibitions are an opportunity for visitors, including farmers, technicians, merchants, and investors, to learn about the needs of agricultural supplies and what is available, pointing to the importance of agricultural mechanization as the basis for agricultural work, introducing modern agricultural technologies, improving production, and reducing its costs.
Qatna noted that the Ministry, through the Agricultural Cooperative Bank, has amended the need schedule and doubled the loans granted for agricultural tractors, whereby 70% of the price of the tractor is financed as a loan to enable farmers to obtain it, stressing the Ministry’s readiness to hand over to any investor a plot of land to establish an agricultural machinery complex with its accessories for rent to farmers who are unable to own an agricultural tractor.
In turn, the Governor of Damascus Countryside, Safwan Abu Saadi, confirmed that the two exhibitions are a push for national economy and an opportunity to highlight Syrian efforts, adding that the governorate provided the infrastructure regarding the development and industrial areas and the industrial city to be a safe place for agricultural and other industries.
While the head of the Federation of Chambers of Agriculture, Muhammad Kashto, stated that the two exhibitions represent a state of economic and agricultural activity that supports the national economy, and since the Syrian economy is mainly agricultural, its role must be strengthened through exhibitions that secure local and foreign companies that contribute to the development of the agricultural sector.
In turn, the director of the “Desert Rose Exhibitions and Conferences” Company, which organizes the “Veterinary and Poultry” exhibition, Farouk Jakish, explained that the exhibition includes about 40 companies, and includes a large assortment of everything related to the veterinary and poultry sector, including food supplements, vaccines, veterinary medicines, and poultry equipment.
The two exhibitions will continue until the twenty-fifth of this month, and can be visited from four in the afternoon until nine in the evening. Transportation is provided to transport visitors and participants from under Mr. President’s Bridge, starting at three in the afternoon, with a trip every half hour, coordination has also been made to transport visitors from the Syrian governorates in cooperation with the Syrian Chambers of Agriculture and branches of the Veterinarians Syndicate.
