Al-Shammat: Ministry is Keen to Solve aid-delivery problem Everywhere

DAMASCUS,(ST)-The Syrian government exerts every possible effort to deliver aid to those in need in all areas across the country.

On Thursday, Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Kinda al-Shammat underscored the importance of cooperation with the international humanitarian organizations working in Syria to guarantee hauling aid to those in need in all areas.

The minister’s remark was made during a meeting held today with the executive director of the World Food Program (WFP) Ertharin Cousin.

The official news agency quoted Dr. al-Shammat as saying: “the ministry is keen to solve all problems that face delivering aid to those who need it, particularly children and women… The Takfiri terrorist groups hinder the delivery of aid to citizens in some areas.”

For her part, Cousin stressed the continuous  cooperation with the Syrian government to guarantee hauling aid to citizens affected by the events, referring to the obstacles that have faced delivering aid to provinces of al-Hassaka, Der Ezzour, and al-Raqqa.

She, in addition, referred to the efforts being exerted by the Syrian government to remove the obstacles.
