Youths Stage Sit-in Outside UN Office Against Adra Crimes

DAMASCUS,(ST)_Scores of youths have staged a sit- in in Damascus over the terrorist groups’ crimes against innocent civilians in Adra city outside Damascus.

The protesters staged the sit-in on Thursday outside the doors of the United Nations’ headquarters in Damascus and blamed the crimes on ‘Oil sheikhdoms, Turkey and the countries that support terrorism’, according to the official news agency.

They called on the international organizations to coerce terrorism supporters to stop smuggling weapons into Syria and to call those   responsible to account for the crimes which contradict human rights and the international law.

The protestors slammed the international community’s standing idly by as the Syrians are being killed and the country’s infrastructure is being destroyed by the barbaric terrorist groups.

Syrian mothers’ statement

They handed a statement to the UN resident representative in Syria Yaaqoub al-Helo in the name of the Syrian mothers.

The statement described the crimes perpetrated in the city of Adra as ‘unprecedented in modern history’, stressing that the continuity of detention of civilians by the terrorist groups in Adra city violates all international laws and charters.

It appealed to the international community to adopt urgent stance to denounce the crimes and to deal with the humanitarian repercussions of the crimes under the UN charter and the international law.

On December 12, 2013, the foreign-backed terrorist groups entered Adra city and committed brutal crimes against civilians.
