Cuba reaffirms its support for Syria in fighting terrorism

Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla has reaffirmed his country’s support for Syria, stressing the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty and to not interfere in its internal affairs.

During a meeting with the Syrian Ambassador to Cuba Ghassan Obeid, Parrilla stressed the strength of the Cuban-Syrian relations and the need to boost cooperation in all fields.

He hailed Syria’s ability to confront all the difficulties and conspiracies hatched against it, reiterating his country’s condemnation of all the terrorist acts that target Syria’s security and of the Israeli and American occupation of Syrian lands.

For his part, Obeid thanked Cuba for supporting Syria, hailing the deep relations between the two countries and affirming Syria’s complete support for Cuba in the face of the criminal US economic blockade.

The two sides asserted the importance of continuous consultations and coordination in all fields. They discussed the latest developments in the regional and international arenas and condemned the Israeli ongoing aggression on the Palestinian people in Gaza and the Isareli crimes committed in violation of all international laws and resolutions.
