Chinese President: The highest priority in Gaza is a ceasefire and avoiding a serious humanitarian crisis

Chinese President Xi Jinping announced that the top priority regarding the situation in Gaza is a ceasefire and avoiding the conflict that may be expanded till it is uncontrolled and that may cause a serious humanitarian crisis.

Xinhua news agency quoted Jinping as saying during a meeting with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly in Beijing today: “The main way to get out of the current and recurring conflict lies in establishing the independent state of Palestine.”

Jinping stressed that China is ready to work with Egypt to protect international justice and the common interests of developing countries, with the aim of establishing more factors of stability in the region and the world, and facilitating reaching a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue at the earliest possible opportunity.

In turn, Madbouly said: “Egypt and the Arab countries praise China for its firm and just position on the Palestinian issue, and look forward to China’s most important role in resolving the current crisis.”
