Indian historian: A barbaric war waged by “Israel” against the people in the besieged Gaza Strip

Indian historian and political commentator Vijay Prashad described the new Israeli occupation aggression on the Gaza Strip as brutal, broader in scope, and more ferocious than the previous repeated attacks on the Palestinians, who find no refuge or hiding place from the continuous round-the-clock occupation bombing except their homes, which are collapsing and turning into rubble above their heads.

Prashad, who resides in Washington, said in the context of an article published by the American Globe Trotter website: “Dozens of children and women are killed every day as a result of the Israeli aggression on Gaza,  some of them are buried under the rubble of their house, while rescue teams are unable to recover their bodies or find a place for them to be buried, indicating that this is a simple taste of the woes that the Gaza Strip and its people are experiencing.”

Prashad brought to mind the dates of a number of attacks launched by “Israel” on the Gaza Strip, including the aggression of June , October  and November of 2006, the aggression between the months of February and March of 2008,the subsequent aggression between December and January of the year 2008 and 2009, respectively, the aggression in March and November of 2012 ,the aggression between July and August 2014, November 2019, the aggression in August 2022, and the current aggression in May 2023.

Prashad explained that each of these attacks targeted the remaining infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, bringing heavy losses in civilian lives, that even the occupation authorities did not allow their numbers to be published.

Prashad pointed out that after the 2014 aggression, the Gaza Strip turned into something resembling a rubble, while United Nations reports confirmed that the Palestinians in the Strip are actually sleeping among the rubble, and that a large number of children died due to their low body temperature in the open, being as such the case every time a military operation launches a military operation, moreover in the current aggression, despite this tragic situation, the occupation forces cut off water, electricity, fuel, and food from the people of Gaza.

With the continued Israeli persecution of the Palestinians and the repeated extermination campaigns it launches from time to time, Prashad stressed that there is no longer any choice for the Palestinians but to move from political means to resistance in the face of the abuse that has continued for decades with the support of the major powers, led by the United States and Europe.

Prashad brought light to the fact that armed resistance against the occupation is legitimate in international law, denouncing the blatant bias of Western countries towards “Israel” and their affirmation of supporting the crimes it commits without embarrassment, with every Israeli fighter bombing civilians in Gaza, western leaders come out to declare their loyalty to the occupying entity and submit to it completely, while the occupation government moved away from using the phrase (self-defense) when justifying its attacks, and no longer needed to provide justifications, it began to use the language of (collective punishment and extermination).

Prashad concluded by saying:” The children of Gaza, as is the case in every Israeli aggression against their lands, gather in their rooms waiting for the bombs the occupation is launching at their homes in the depths of darkness because “Israel” cut off their electricity, with dry mouths because “Israel” cut off their water, and with hungry stomachs because “Israel” cut off their food.”
