Qatana stresses need to facilitate the movement of trucks carrying agricultural products between Syria and Jordan
The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Eng. Mohamed Hassan Qatana, confirmed the need to provide the necessary facilities for the crossing of trucks carrying agriculture products between Syria and Jordan, to achieve a balance in the provision of agriculture products for the economic benefit of both countries.
The minister Qatana, during his meeting today with the head of the Jordanian Agriculture, Water, and Food Industries Workers Union, Dr. Bushra Salman, and her accompanying delegation, pointed out to the importance of developing Syrian Jordanian relations in the agriculture field and trade exchange, and to the role of the unions, federations and organizations, as a support for the government sectors to support the agriculture producers, secure stability for them and provide their requirements to continue the product process.
Qatana noted the quadripartite agreement of the Agriculture ministers of Syria, Iraq, Jordan, and Lebanon, which drew a road map to achieve productive integration between the 4 countries, and the possibility of new Arab country joining it, pointing to the role of the Peasants Union in Syria and the Agricultural and Water Workers Union in Jordan in contributing to implementing the terms of the agreement between the two countries.
For her part, Salman stressed the importance of developing relations between the two brotherly countries, and continuing cooperation in the agricultural field and exchanging products, in a way that achieves the interest of the two peoples and contributes to achieving agricultural and economic development, noting the importance of permanent communication between government and union bodies to present problems and appropriate solutions to facilitate trade exchange.
The meeting was attended by a member of the Executive Office of the General Union of Peasants, Muhammad Baloul, and the Director of Agricultural Extension in the Ministry, Dr. Entisar Jabawi.
