China condemns the Israeli attacks on Gaza and calls for a ceasefire

China affirmed its condemnation and strong opposition to all Israeli practices against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip because they violate human conscience and basic norms of international relations.

According to Xinhua Agency, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, carried out a telephone conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud regarding the recent developments in Palestine.

Wang Yi indicated the need to return to the negotiating table, as soon as possible, to calm the situation.

Wang Yisaid: “China opposes and condemns all actions that harm civilians, because they violate human conscience and basic norms of international relations.’

He stressed that China is conducting extensive contacts with all parties to push for a ceasefire, and that the urgent task is to ensure the safety of civilians.

Wang Yi added: “China stands ready to work with Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries to support the just cause of the Palestinians of restoring their national rights and putting the Palestinian issue back on the right track.”
