China calls for protecting civilians in Gaza Strip

New York – China’s Permanent Representative at the United Nations Zhang Jun has called for protecting the civilians in Gaza Strip and deliver humanitarian aid to the population there in order to avoid a humanitarian disaster. He expressed concern over the violent and continuous Israeli bombardment of Gaza Strip.

According to RT website, the Chinese diplomat said during a Security Council session last night “China is worried because of the current situation in Gaza, and there is a need to take urgent action to protect civilians and deliver aid to avoid a humanitarian catastrophe”, noting that the Chinese mission encourages all efforts to do what is necessary to protect civilians and reduce the escalation.

The Israeli occupation forces continued their aggression against Gaza Strip for the eighth day in a row, with their warplanes launching intense raids throughout the Strip, leaving thousands of victims and causing massive destruction to citizens’ homes.
