Lebanese Minister of Defense and media men: Israeli attacks on journalists an attempt to prevent conveying the truth the world public opinion

Beirut – Minister of Defense in the Lebanese caretaker government Maurice Salim condemned the Israeli enemy targeting of journalists during its attacks on South Lebanon on Friday.

In an article posted on “X” platform and reported by the Lebanese national News Agency, the minister said this attack indicates the Israeli occupation’s deep and blind hatred which again targets the media to silence the journalists and prevent them from conveying the truth and exposing the Israeli enemy’s crimes against the people in occupied lands and its violations of international laws.

For his part, Head of the Lebanese National Council for Audiovisual Media Abdul Hadi Mahfouz warned that the Zionist entity is adopting a policy of extermination towards the people in Gaza Strip, which indicates the Nazism and brutality of this entity, stressing that Israel’s targeting of journalists and reporters in southern Lebanon aims at preventing international public opinion from knowing the truth of what is happening.

He called on all Arab visual media institutions and social media sites not to remain neutral, but to push the entire Arab community to join efforts and sympathize with the Palestinian national resistance in Gaza and Al-Quds (Jerusalem).

For his part, Head of the Syndicate of Lebanese Editors Joseph Al-Qasifi regretted that some international media outlets ignored the news of the Israeli attack on Lebanese, Arab and foreign journalists in south Lebanon yesterday, and neglected mentioning the criminal who perpetrated the crime or the party that is responsible for this crime, considering that this matter lacks the humanitarian feeling and professional commitment.

He clarified that the journalists who were targeted by the Israeli criminal weapons intentionally were doing their duty in conveying the true about of what is happening in south Lebanon and to document the ongoing crimes of the Israeli enemy in images, audio and writing.

Yesterday evening, the Lebanese  photojournalist Issam Al-Abdullah, who was working for Reuters, was martyred and six others were injured, including reporters for Reuters and AFP, in a brutal Israeli attack that targeted the car carrying them in the town of Alma Al-Shaab in south Lebanon.
