UNRWA: 340,000 Palestinians were displaced in the Gaza Strip, quantities of food and water are limited

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) announced that 340,000 Palestinians have been displaced in the besieged Gaza Strip, and the shelters are overcrowded and a limited amount of food and potable water is available.

“218,600 displaced people reside in 92 UNRWA schools in all areas of the Gaza Strip, in addition to 121,400 who were displaced to other schools in the Strip,”Wafa Agency quoted UNRWA as saying in a statement:

The UNRWA said that the number of internally displaced people in UNRWA emergency shelters is increasing on a daily basis, as the number of internally displaced persons in UNRWA emergency shelters continues to increase.

UNRWA warned that it has a limited amount of food and non-food items and potable water, noting that the water crisis is looming in UNRWA emergency shelters and throughout the Gaza Strip due to damage to the infrastructure, the interruption of the electricity needed to operate pumps and desalination plants, and the limited water supply in the Strip.

UNRWA indicated that one of its health centers was damaged as a result of air strikes on the Gaza Strip today, bringing the total number of its damaged facilities to 21 facilities since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression against the Gaza Strip last Saturday.
