The World Health Organization calls for opening a humanitarian passageway to the Gaza Strip

Today, the World Health Organization called for the opening of a humanitarian passage to the besieged Gaza Strip, in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression against it since last Saturday.

Wafa Palestinian News Agency quoted the organization’s spokesman as saying during a press conference in Geneva: “Opening a humanitarian passage is necessary to provide basic medical supplies to the Palestinians,” indicating that the organization is working to achieve this.

The Gaza Strip’s hospitals are suffering from a major shortage of medicines, medical supplies, and fuel, as a result of the Israeli siege and the continued aggression where the occupation’s cutting off of electricity and water, also its prevention of the entry of medical materials constitute a challenge to the health system and a threat to the lives of thousands of wounded and sick people.
