UN: More than 123,000 people left their homes as a result of the continuous Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The United Nations announced on Monday that more than 123,000 people have left their homes as a result of the continuous Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip for the third day in a row.

AP quoted the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) as saying in a report today: “123,538 people left their homes in several areas in the Gaza Strip seeking protection and out of fear that their homes would be demolished as a result of air strikes and artillery shelling launched by the Israeli occupation forces on Gaza Strip.  It added that more than 73,000 people took refuge in schools affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) over the past three days.

For his part, agency spokesman Adnan Abu Hasna confirmed that he expects an increase in the number of people resorting to these schools. He said: We provide these people with meals, water, and medical treatment.

Abu Hasna indicated that the conditions could get worse as the aggression continues.

The Israeli occupation warplanes have bombed the Gaza Strip with more than 1,000 tons of bombs since the beginning of the aggression last Saturday, causing hundreds of martyrs and injuries and leading to the destruction of dozens of homes.
