Syrian-Iranian Talks to Promote Tourism

TEHRAN, (ST) – The Tourism Minister, Eng. Bisher Yaziji, and the Assistant of the Iranian President, who is the head of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, Mohammad Ali Najafi, recently discussed in Tehran the bilateral relations between Syria and Iran and the prospects of enhancing them in various fields, particularly in the field of tourism.

During the meeting, Eng. Yaziji said that “The relations between the two countries are solid and based on strong foundations and the tourism sector constitutes a large portion of these relations,” adding that his Ministry in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior in Syria is ready to provide all the facilities and potentials for Iranian visitors

Eng. Yaziji called for greater cooperation in the field of student cultural exchange and promotion of tourism and medical tourism between the two countries as they possess unique elements of beautiful nature and specialized medical staff.

For his part, Mr. Najafi confirmed the strength of bilateral relations linking the two countries and called for more cooperation in all fields’ particularly medical tourism, whereas the two countries have many potentials of both countries, stressing his country’s readiness to promote health treatment in the two countries for the benefit of the two friendly peoples.

It is worth mentioning that the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Tourism to Iran came to participate in the activities of the Fourth Conference of the medical tourism of Islamic countries, which was held recently in the city of Mashhad. The event addressed the important issues concerned with the development of medical tourism and the provision of services and the exchange of experiences of health among the States and the participating delegations.
