The thirty-seventh session of the International Conference for Islamic Unity began in Tehran today, with the participation of Syria and 110 intellectuals from 41 countries.
Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi said in a speech at the opening of the conference: “Our common vision today is steadfastness and resistance in the face of enemies, not normalization and surrender.”
Raisi stressed the need to focus on Islamic unity, which means harmony and coordination to preserve the interests of the Islamic world.
Raisi pointed out that the enemy is fighting the unity of the Islamic nation.
Raisi explained that the goal of holding the World Conference for Islamic Unity is to create unity and solidarity among Muslims and bring closer the scientific and cultural viewpoints of scholars.
The International Islamic Unity Conference, in its session this year, comes under the slogan “Islamic cooperation for the crystallization of common values.”
It is noteworthy that the part of the (virtual) seminars of this conference, which was created in the thirty-fourth conference of 2020, is still approved and ongoing, taking into account the outbreak of the Corona virus, as these seminars began last Thursday in the form of 16 virtual meetings in the presence of 240 thinkers.
Another meeting will be held with foreign guests and the final statement of the conference will be read at this meeting.
This year, more than 200 articles were sent from 20 countries such as Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and Iraq in different languages to the General Secretariat of the Conference.
This year, a Qur’anic exhibition will be held alongside the Islamic Unity Conference in defense of the Holy Qur’an after the shameful abuse to which the Holy Qur’an was subjected to in some Western countries under the approval or silence of the leaders of European countries
On the sidelines of the conference today, the Iranian President participated in the unveiling of 15 books on the topic of unity.
It is noteworthy that the Islamic Unity Conference is held every year in Iran coinciding with the anniversary of the Prophet’s birthday, with the aim of strengthening unity among the people of the Islamic nation.
