Al-Basel Exhibition for Creativity and Invention an opportunity to introduce the participants’ creative projects

A number of participants in the 21st session of the Al-Basel Exhibition for Creativity and Invention have stressed that the exhibition constituted an important opportunity to introduce their projects and invest in them.

The participants affirmed the importance of the presence of business incubators at the exhibition with the aim of facilitating communication with inventors, supporting their projects and discussing ways of implementing them.

Eng. Husam Lattouf, a higher education student at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Aleppo University, said his project is an automatic device for picking cotton connected to a tractor. It was tested on Aleppo cotton and it proved its effectiveness by saving time, effort and cost.

Dr. Ibrahim Turkmani, a professor at the faculty of Dentistry of Al-Baath University in Homs, noted the diversity and quality of the displayed projects, clarifying that his project has obtained a patent last year and has to do with producing toothpaste and mouthwash from Damascene Rose water with extracts of pistachio shells and gum. The project is currently being implemented and its products will be introduced to the local and foreign markets soon.

Regarding the participation of the Scientific Research and Studies Center, Dr. Yousef Kweifati said the projects presented by the center at the exhibition are thermoelectric generators that convert thermal energy into direct electrical energy without the need for an electronic system. The generators are small and easy to use and transfer and they do not require continuous maintenance.

Member of the leadership of the Revolutionary Youth Union, Mohammad Al-Qasem, who is the head of the union’s Central Informatics and Technology Department, said that some of the distinguished projects presented by the union will be supported through obtaining property protection document from the Ministry of Internakl Trade and Consumer Protection and through inveting in these projects in partnership with the union.

72 projects were displayed in the Al-Basel Exhibition for Creativity and Invention which kicked off last Sunday and it concludes today evening.

It is to be noted that the winners in Al-Basel Exhibition for Creativity and Invention will be honored within a ceremony to be held tomorrow.
