Iranian Ministry of Security foils plot to carry out terrorist bombings in Tehran

The Iranian Ministry of Security announced foiling a plot to carry out 30 simultaneous terrorist bombings in various crowded points in the capital, Tehran, and the arrest of 28 terrorists in recent days.

The ministry said in a statement today: “In recent days, during a series of simultaneous operations in the provinces of Tehran, Alborz, and West Azerbaijan, terrorist dens were raided, and 28 members of a network linked to the ISIS terrorist organization were arrested.”

The ministry added: “Although the arrested members are from ISIS, the design model of the planned terrorist operation is much more complex than the usual pattern of Takfiri movements, and it closely resembles the well-known methods and mechanisms of the Zionist occupation.”

The Ministry indicated that during the operation, it seized large quantities of explosives, bombs, explosive devices, explosive belts, weapons, ammunition, many smart and satellite communications devices, and sums of foreign currency.
