Russian researcher: President Assad’s visit to China and the establishment of strategic partnership relations is an important historical event
On September 23rd Chief researcher at the Orientalism Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Boris Dolgov, said that the visit of President Bashar al-Assad to China is a very important historical event, because it pushed Syrian-Chinese relations to the strategic level.
Dolgov stated: “This visit, in addition to the establishment of strategic partnership relations, makes Syria one of the most important countries in the region, as the People’s Republic of China has and continues to support all countries that oppose colonialism and the aggressive policy of the West.”
Dolgov pointed out that the signing of the partnership agreement puts China, Russia, Syria and Iran on a common path that has a very significant impact on the course of events in the region on the one hand, and on the other hand the interaction of these countries will lead most countries in the region and the world to take positive and firm positions against aggressive policies and pressure from Western countries.
He added: “This agreement will enhance China’s role in providing support and assistance to the Syrian people in various economic, political and cultural fields, and will have a significant impact for the benefit of all the peoples of the region against the policy of hegemony, aggression and economic pressure exerted by the United States.”
