Daraa, (ST) – A tourist group from the United States of America visited the ancient city of BosraAl-Sham in Daraa.The group included teachers and retirees, who were keen to see its archaeological landmarks.
In statements to a SANA correspondent, Tara, who is a teacher pointed out that her visit to Bosra was part of a program to learn about the ancient civilizations of the East. She indicated that the historical antiquities she saw in Bosra were evidence of the importance of the region.
Benat, who is retired, also pointed out that the magnitude of the places and the grandeur of the edifices confirm that ancient civilizations started from the East.
Meanwhile, Terry who is retired considered that Bosrais a global museum that includes a unique succession of multiple civilizations.
Melissa, a teacher and archaeologist expressed her happiness at the archaeological remains she saw in Bosra, especially the theater, which she considered a unique masterpiece in terms of design and construction.
In turn, the tourist guide Athar Al-Salem who accompanied the group said that the increase in the number of tourists and delegations coming to Syria is evidence of the recovery and stability of the tourism sector after long years of war.
While the Director of Tourism in Daraa, Yasser Al-Saadi noted the continued influx of tourists to Syria and access to its archaeological monuments. He pointed out the need for international organizations interested in heritage affairs to play their role in protecting antiquities.
