Minister of Public Works and Housing: Commitment to timetables for implementing housing for earthquake victims in Aleppo
Engineer Abdul Latif stressed the commitment to the specified time programs and the quality of work in implementing housing projects for the eligible earthquake victims, pointing out the importance of providing all facilities to those affected at the Citizen Service Center to enable them to obtain the documents required to benefit from the services of the National Fund to support those affected by the earthquake.
In turn, the director of the General Corporation for Housing branch in Aleppo, Engineer Salem Habeeb, explained that the value of the works carried out in the Al-Maasraniyah suburb for the eligible earthquake victims has amounted to 9.7 billion Syrian pounds up till date, while the implementation rate exceeded 52 percent according to the best technical conditions and specifications, indicating that the project consists of four residential plots.
For his part, the head of the Studies Department in Aleppo City Council, Engineer Jamal Kareem, stated that the cost of the works carried out in the Haidariyah suburb up till date has exceeded 4 billion Syrian pounds, and includes four buildings for those affected by the earthquake, with a total of 320 residential apartments.
The Director of the Vocational Training Center for the Construction Sector, Engineer Mohamed Abdel Wahab, pointed out the importance of the free courses that the center holds, which cover the crafts of painting and decorating, carpentry, blacksmithing, aluminum installation, welding, solar energy, as well as sanitary and electrical installations. He indicated that the beneficiaries are young people of 18 up to 45 years old.
The director of the Citizen Service Center at the Municipal Palace, Engineer Marwan Haf, explained that the center continues to receive requests from citizens wishing to benefit from the National Fund to Support those affected by the earthquake, indicating that the support includes two tranches, the first worth 160 million Syrian pounds for regular buildings, while the second is worth 40 million Syrian pounds for irregular buildings in addition to loans tax-exempted for 10 years.
The Governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab, and the Head of the Aleppo City Council, Dr. Maad Madalji, participated in the tour.
