Fermo platform: The forests of northwestern Syria are at high levels of fire danger tomorrow
The Forest and Fire Monitoring Platform “Fermo” announced that fire danger maps for the forests of northwestern Syria indicate that the moderate level of danger will continue to affect most sites during this day.
The platform indicated that the area of high level effects is on the eastern sites of the forests of northwestern Syria and will increase tomorrow, Friday, as natural conditions of heat and drought continue to support high levels of fire danger, warning against any activities that may cause the outbreak of any fire.
The platform noted that maps are being prepared at the General Commission for Remote Sensing in cooperation with the Forestry Directorate of the Ministry of Agriculture and the General Directorate of Meteorology, calling on all citizens not to light any fires, and to report any fire or smoke to the toll-free numbers 188 and 113.
