24 paintings by Syrian expariate artist Osama Habil using engraving and printing techniques in the Julia Dumna Gallery in Damascus

Over the course of 10 days, expatriate fine artist Osama Habil displayed 24 works of medium and small size using engraving and printing techniques, in an exhibition titled “Close Up” at the Julia Dumna Gallery in Damascus.

The lines of ink and space were intertwined with the technique of engraving and printing in Habil’s paintings, giving details from his visual memory of the paintings that he completed while he was in Syria.

In a statement to SANA News Agency, the artist Habil indicated that the idea came from the fine artist Ahmed Al-Roumani to hold an exhibition dedicated to engraving and printing, as he considered it an overlooked and kind of oppressed technique among other arts in Syria and abroad.

He explained that the title of the exhibition (Close Up) has the implication of approximation, as he worked on taking pictures of part of a scene and this part is what represented his paintings.

It is noteworthy that the fine artist Osama Habil participated in many solo exhibitions in Syria and abroad, and he also participated in several group exhibitions in Spain and Italy.
