Syrian-Iranian discussions on cooperation in the field of communications

On September 13th, the Minister of Communications and Technology, Engineer Iyad Al-Khatib, met with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus, Hussein Akbari in the building of the Ministry of Communications and Technology.

The two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of communications and information technology and on increasing cooperation and exchanging experiences, especially in the field of software industry, electronic applications, data and space images for civil and service uses provided by the Iranian Space Agency.

Minister Al-Khatib pointed to continuing work to develop relations with the Iranian side in various aspects of the communications sector and following up on the work of the joint technical committees that were formed to implement the memorandums of understanding signed between the two countries recently.

Ambassador Akbari referred to the depth of relations with Syria at all levels and the importance of enhancing cooperation in various fields and benefiting from the capabilities available in his country in the communications and information technology sector.

Ambassador Akbari called for further exchange of visits and experiences.
