Athens- Syrian wrestler Omar Sarem won a gold medal in the Mediterranean Beach Games currently being held in the Greek city of Herklion.
He obtained the gold medal after a series of victories that started with topping his group after defeating the Italian champion by 3/1, the Algerian champion 2/0 and the Greek champion 3/0.
Sarem, then, qualified for the semifinals in which he faced the French champion and defeated him 3/2 which qualified him to the final in which he faced the Greek champion and won by 3/2.
