Syria, Iraq to enhance cooperation in the health field

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Health Hassan Muhammad Al-Ghabash discussed with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus Yassin Sharif Al-Hujaimi means of enhancing cooperation in the health field.

The topics of the meeting, held on Wednesday at the Ministry’s building, focused on developing cooperation and exchanging experiences, especially in the field of pharmaceutical industries.

The meeting also focused on the possibility of forming joint technical committees between the two sides to follow up on health cooperation and promote medical tourism.

Al-Ghabbash stressed the need to develop joint relations in the health sector, especially with regard to registering medicines and exporting them to the Iraqi pharmaceutical market.

In turn, Al-Hujaimi stressed the depth of relations between the two countries at all levels. He also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in various health fields and benefiting from Syrian medical specialties such as emergency medicine.
