The Syrian kickboxing team returned home after achieving great results in the Arab Kickboxing Championship, which was held recently in the city of Al Suleimanya in Iraq, in which the team won 9 various medals.

Today, SANA met the team members upon their arrival to the General Sport Federation building in Damascus, and interviewed the winners to talk about their distinguished results.

The players of the Syrian teams praised the good organization of the championship and the high skill levels of the participants from different countries, expressing their happiness with the results they achieved, which came after a strong competition, that gave them a motivation to make more efforts to compete in the upcoming tournaments for the advanced places and stand on international podiums.

Secretary of the Kickboxing Federation, Salman Essa, pointed to the importance of the achievement made in the recent Arab Championship despite the modest preparation capabilities compared to the rest of teams. “Our team proved a great presence in the competition and deserved to stand on the podium, especially in the women’ category,” Salman said, hoping that the team will achieve more remarkable results in future if it has optimal preparations especially by providing external camps.

The Syrian team won 9 medals (5 gold, 2 bronze and 2 silver) in the Arab championship and achieved the first place in the Arab world in the women’ category and the third in the overall standings.
