Arab Chambers’ Union adopts recommendation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce to lift the unjust sanctions imposed on Syria
MANAMA, Sep.12, (ST)-The Union of Arab Chambers unanimously agreed to adopt a recommendation by Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce
to lift the unjust, unilateral coercive sanctions being imposed on Syria to be later submitted to the UN, the European Union and the Arab League.
This step came during the participation of a delegation from the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce, headed by Mazen Hammad, Vice President of the Federation, in the meetings of the 134th session of the Council of the Federation of Chambers which was held in the Bahraini capital of Manama, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
“17 Arab countries participated in the 2-day meetings where discussions focused on the mechanisms of activating the role of joint Arab chambers in serving the Arab business sector and boosting inter-trade among Arab, European and American states countries,” Hammad declared.
He added that it was agreed on the necessity of expanding the establishment of joint Arab-foreign chambers, especially with countries that play an important role in the global economy, and the necessity of activating the participation of the Arab side in those chambers.
On the sidelines of its participation, the Syrian delegation held bilateral meetings with the First Vice President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, the President of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the President of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during which bilateral trade relations between Syria and those countries and mechanisms for developing them through the exchange of visits by trade delegations and the keenness to participate in economic exhibitions and conferences.
