Syria offers condolences to Libya over victims of Storm Daniel

Syria has expressed its condolences to the Libyan government and people over the tragic loss caused by Storm Daniel that struck the eastern part of Libya, claiming the lives of thousands of people and injuring thousands others.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said “the Syrian Arab Republic offers its deeepest condolences to the government and brotherly people of Libya over the disaster that befell the country as a result of the destructive Storm Daniel that hit Libya, killed more than 3000 people, injured thousands others, caused the missing of  many people and left massive destruction”.

The ministry added “Syria voices its sincere solidarity with the Libyan people, leadership and government and expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims, its sympathy with the families of the missing and the injured, wishing speedy recovery for the injured”.

The ministry concluded by emphasizing Syria’s confidence in Libya’s ability to overcome the difficulties, no matter how harsh they are, and in the ability of the Libyan people and institutions to confront the disastrous impacts of this storm thanks to their unity and constant readiness to overcome challenges.
