Tourism Minister Mohammad Rami Martini on Monday met with the Jordanian delegation participating in the Syrian-Jordanian Economic Forum. The two sides discussed enhancing tourism cooperation and facilitating border crossing between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed facilitating the Syrian businessmen using of ports, airports and infrastructure in Jordan for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries and for boosting the sectors of investment and development.
Martini noted the development of intra-tourism and the increase in tourist arrivals between the two countries. He clarified that 175 thousand Jordanian tourists visited Syria within the past eight months.
Martini also said “two months ago, we had several successful meetings in Jordan on intra-tourism and on promoting tourism as a common activity in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, and other Arab countries and as a symbol of inter Arab cooperation”.
For his psrt, Head of the Jordanian delegation Hamza Al-Hajj Hassan, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Commissioners of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, said that this visit is a clear message from Aqaba Authority, which represents the Jordanian government, to the Syrian traders and industrialists that the doors of Jordan and Aqaba region are open for them.
