Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Mohsen Abdul Karim Ali, inaugurated on Saturday the Family Monthly Shopping Festival “Made in Syria”, in President Square in Jableh, and in the Apamea Complex in Lattakia.
About 100 industrial, commercial and marketing companies, in addition to the Syrian Trading Establishment, participated in the festival and displayed a wide variety of food products, consumables, detergents, stationery, school supplies and clothes at reasonable prices, promotions and discounts ranging from 15 to 30 percent.
In a statement to reporters during the inauguration, Minister Ali affirmed the ministry’s keenness to hold such events in cooperation with the Chambers of Industry and Commerce and the companies of the economic sector in order to provide support to the citizen and mitigate the impact of the huge rise in prices witnessed by the markets in light of the difficult circumstances and economic conditions that Syria is going through as a result of the unjust war and the unjust siege imposed on it by hostile forces.
Ali added that the shopping festivals that are opened in various governorates in conjunction with the beginning of the school year are part of the ministry’s plan for positive intervention, especially as they provide an opportunity for direct sales from the producer to the consumer, and thus the goods reach the citizen at reasonable prices.
Governor of Lattakia, Eng. Amer Hilal, noted that the monthly shopping festival `Made in Syria ” represents one of the aspects of cooperation between government agencies, especially the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, with chambers of industry and commerce to provide basic products directly to consumers at reduced prices. He stressed the governorate’s continuation in supporting festivals and exhibitions due to the availability of high-quality materials and a wide variety offered by the participating entities at competitive prices, in addition to offers and discounts to meet the requirements of various segments of society.
Talal Qalaji, Vice President of Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, pointed out that the festival carries a message of solidarity with families and parents throughout Syria and support for their children to complete the path of educational attainment with the opening of the school year.
Director General of the Syrian Trading Establishment, Ziad Hazaa, referred to the great turnout of people on its first day and the wide variety of commodities and the competitive prices, as stationery and school supplies are available at lower prices than the market.
Citizens from Jableh pointed out that the prices are very encouraging compared to the market, and that the products offered match them in terms of quality.
At the Apamea Mall, the people praised the good organization and the way the products were displayed in a remarkable and elegant manner, expressing their approval of the quality and variety of the products.
