Several tourism projects inaugurated in Tartous

Tartous (ST): The Minister of Tourism, Engineer Mohamed Rami Martini, today opened the Engineers Club Beach and the Bistro Restaurant, and laid the foundation stone for the chalets and Amrit tourist camp project and the eastern Karnak Beach development project.

Minister Martini indicated in a statement to reporters after a tour of these sites that the government pays attention to domestic tourism, specifically popular tourism, of which the eastern Karnak Beach development project is considered one of the most important, implemented by the Syrian Transport and Tourism Company with full government funding, and relies on renewable energy at reduced prices.

Minister Martini stressed that the  investment in the tourism sector as a development sector provides job opportunities in the field of carrying out tourism investment projects, including the engineering sector, contracting, equipment and furnishings, in addition to securing job and employment opportunities for graduates of the tourism education sector in the operation and investment phase with the presence of an integrated map for tourism education throughout Syria.

In turn, the Governor of Tartous, Firas Al-Hamid, stated that the majority of these projects are joint projects between the Ministry of Tourism and the Tartous City Council, and are considered support facilities for the infrastructure of the tourism sector in the governorate, pointing out that the proceeds of these projects will reflect positively on tourism projects in the future, and on improving the service reality of the Council’s work.

For his part, the Director General of the Syrian Company for Transport and Tourism, Engineer Fayez Mansour, explained that laying the foundation stone for the Eastern Karnak Beach Development Project, which will include 75 chalets, is a continuation of the Western Karnak Beach Project, which was launched last year and represents the third phase of the Karnak Project, which is implemented and managed by the Syrian Company for Transport and Tourism.
