Ministry of Agriculture, ESCWA discuss enhancing scientific and technical cooperation and exchanging experiences
The head of the delegation, Reem Muhammad Abd al-Hadi al-Najdawi, reviewed the Organization’s methodology, the purpose of the two-day visit to Syria, ways to activate scientific and technical cooperation, and link with other organizations.
Hamo Al-Omrani, Economic Affairs Officer for Environment and Food Policies at ESCWA, said in a press statement that the aim of ESCWA’s visit to Syria is to discuss opportunities for cooperation within the framework of supporting the recovery of agriculture in Syria, whereby the priority that must be worked on has been determined in coordination with the rest of the United Nations bodies operating in Syria.
The importance of cooperation with international organizations, including ESCWA, to establish coordination frameworks in the fields of training and qualification was discussed as well as the possibility of benefiting from the expertise that the Organization possesses in enhancing the performance of the agricultural sector.
