Ryabkov: Supplying the Kiev regime with depleted uranium missiles is criminal

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov confirmed that supplying the Ukrainian regime with depleted uranium shells is a criminal act on the part of the United States.

“This behavior is not just an escalatory step, but rather a reflection of Washington’s blatant disregard for the environmental impact of using this type of munitions in the area of combat operations,”Novosti news agency quoted Ryabkov as saying in a speech during the symposium (Strengthening the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Regime) in Bishkek today.

Ryabkov pointed out that hundreds of testimonials have been published around the world, including the opinions of environmental scientists, doctors and chemists about the irreparable harm that these weapons can cause.

He said: “The Americans do not care about all of this because this type of weapon will not be used on their lands. They do not care about who will be affected by the consequences of these missiles, where their damage will accumulate, and what will happen to the generations that will live on this land.”

He concluded that this criminal act shows the impudence of the position that determines the US policy in the Eurasian direction.

Ryabkov also warned of the danger of a confrontation between nuclear states, explaining that the underlying conflict between them could turn into an open military confrontation in the Asia-Pacific region.

He said: “The accumulated potential for conflict that was not stopped in a timely manner between the nuclear powers has already led to a very severe crisis in the Euro-Atlantic region, and it threatens to escalate into an open military confrontation in the Asia-Pacific region.”
