Activities of FEARAB 50th Conference in Damascus continue for the second day

Damascus, (ST) – The 50th Extraordinary Conference of the Federation of Arab Institutions in Latin America (FIARAB America) continues its activities for the second day at Reda Saeed Hall in Damascus University.

The topic discussed by the participants today is the  “unilateral coercive economic measures and their repercussions.”

Today’s activities include a dialogue meeting with economic actors, organized by the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce and Industry , to discuss ways of encouraging investment, followed by a presentation by the Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Dr. Muhammad Samer Al-Khalil, on “the Economic Situation and the Points of Strength of the Syrian economy,” and then a dialogue session with the participants.

The Minister of Tourism, Engineer Muhammad Rami Martini, will also give a presentation on the situation of tourism in Syria and the elements of tourist attractions, followed by a dialogue session with the participants.

The conference activities were launched yesterday at the University of Damascus, as an expression of solidarity with Syria in the face of the terrorism that has been targeting the country and the unjust Western economic sanctions that increase the suffering of the Syrian people.

The participants, including heads and members of expatriate institutions and associations, and representatives of expatriate clubs and Arab cultural centers in Latin American countries, discuss over the conference’s three days means of enhancing the role of expatriates in defending their motherland and its issues, as well as the issues of the Arab nation, and in serving the nation’s goals and human civilization.
