Drawing portraits , playing the guitar and studying architecture all at once , how can Syrian youth make their way towards their dreams!.. That’s what the talented Dinan Nayal will uncover for us !
Diana Niall, a third-year student at the College of Architecture, from the city of Aleppo who despite her great inclination towards architectural sciences and arts has a rich wealth of talent in the fields of music and drawing.
Nayal has big dreams of reaching everyone through her talents .That’s why she is starting off by posting facebook videos on her home page showcasing her interesting and beautiful guitar playing through well known songs such as ”enta Omri” by Om Kalthoum , “Naseni Leh” by Tamer Hosni and others.
The talent of Nayal caught the attention of Syria Times , and that’s why we decided to know more about her , and how she makes it possible to balance between her talents and architectural studies !
The discovery of her drawing talent, when did it start , and how she worked on developing it !?
“since I was a little kid, I loved drawing, especially portraiture and characters drawing, that’s why I kept insisting on learning it, until I started that indeed a year ago and here we are now, in fact my love for drawing is what pushed me to choose architecture as a study field, so I can join them together.”
Who is your favorite artist , and what school of art is closest to your heart ?
“There is no specific person.. Everyone who draws and follows this field, in my opinion, is an artist.. as I said before my favorite school of art is portraiture and character drawing.”
What’s something you wish we had in Syria regarding art , but we don’t have it yet ?
“I wish we had good exhibitions and the right kind of opportunities for the talented youth to showcase their capabilities and talents to the rest of the world. I really love to communicate my art to people so they can get to know about me and what I present to the world.”
Now let’s move to your second talent which is playing the guitar , tell us briefly about it ?
“I fell in love with music since I was 12 , and the idea of learning how to an instrument especially the guitar kept haunting me , until I finished my high school that’s when I registered at (Sabah Fakhri) musical institute , and started learning classical music for one year and a half and then I continued with a private teacher to learn how to play songs , this also took me almost one year and half.”
What’s your favorite musical piece, and if you had the chance to play with a famous singer or musician who would it be ?
“My favorite musical piece is called “gulumcan” and soon enough I’ll post my own playing of it on my facebook page, as for musicians I love many , but maybe I would choose “Sheeren Abd Al Whab”.”
What’s a motto or a wisdom that whenever you remember it motivates you in life?
“ Your dream has no expiration date, take a deep breath and try again” ,” I always remember this saying whenever I want to keep myself going forward to reach my dream , I believe there is nothing impossible as long as I keep working on myself.”
In the end, what is the advice you give to people so that they can combine their studies with their talents and hobbies? How can one balance the two, in your opinion?
“The most important thing is time management.. A lot of people ask me how do you manage to do all of these things while still studying, I say time indeed is a very important element if organized properly. Believe me you can make it happen.
I also want to add something: that it is really beautiful for a person to be talented , cause life is really boring without hobbies and talents , that’s why choose the field of study close to your heart , in return your whole outlook on life will literally change .. just as I added art to my life , my life has become much sweeter. “
Indeed life is boring without hobbies and talents , reading , playing music , sports , making inventions whatever your hobby or inclination in life is , it is what adds meaning to it , do you have it or you haven’t discovered it yet !
