50th Conference of the Federation of Arab Institutions in Latin American kicks off in Damascus

Damascus (ST): The activities of the 50th Extraordinary Conference of the Federation of Arab Institutions in Latin American Countries (FEARAB) were launched on Monday at the auditorium of Damascus University.

Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal Al-Mikdad stressed in his speech that the conference constitutes an essential lever along with nationalist efforts  of the countries of  expatriation and it was a bridge to enhance communication with the aim of explaining the reality of what is happening in Syria, contrary to what is promoted by the Western media.

Al-Mikdad explained that “Syria stands with powers of the good in the world, including the countries from which you came, to build a new world in which colonialism, hegemonic forces, and control over the capabilities of peoples end, through a world based on multi-polarity, justice, the Charter of the United Nations, and international law”.

Al-Mikdad added: “We hope that the focus of the work of the conferees will focus on the future of this federation and the development of new mechanisms that will enable it to develop its work and performance in line with the comprehensive vision and the extremely complex geopolitical reality, as we face great dangers and challenges”.

Al-Mikdad said, “the Turkish occupation in northern Syria will end, and Turkey knows that its withdrawal from Syria is the only way to restore relations between the two countries”.

He noted  that “the American occupation of the northeastern part of Syria, its plundering of Syria’s wealth and its support for terrorist groups will end thanks to the struggle and resistance of our heroic people in Deir Ezzour and Al-Hassakah side by side with the Syrian Arab Army”.

In response to a question about the future of Syria after its return to the Arab League, Al-Mikdad said: We have never been outside the scope of joint Arab action, and if America and the Israeli occupation think that they are capable of separating Syria from its nation, then they are mistaken”.

“ We affirm that we are keen on establishing the best relations with Latin American countries, but the economic sanctions imposed on us and on some of these countries hinder this process” Al-Mikdad made it clear.

For his part, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Soussan welcomed the participants in the conference and said “we highly appreciate the positions of the Federation of Arab Institutions in Latin American Countries (FEARAB) on the crucial issues of the Arab nation and its firm principled position in support for Syria in the face of the destructive policies of the American administration and the conspiracy our country has been subjected dominate the region in the service of the interests of Western countries and the Zionist entity.

President of FEARAB America, George Alam, heads and representatives of expatriate institutions in Latin American countries, including Venezuela, Uruguay, Brazil, Panama, Cuba, Chelsea, Argentina, Colombia and Paraguay are taking part in the conference.

The 3-day conference will focus on the repercussions of the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria, the indentify and belonging to the motherland, Syria, ways of consolidating Arab expatriates’ role in  defending their motherland’s causes as well as the causes of the Arab nation and in serving the nation’s goals and civilization.
